Merry Christmas and a Happy New year from Dolomite Bio!

2020 has been a challenging year for everyone all around the world, even so, the Dolomite Bio team elves have been busy all year ensuring we can still deliver the equipment, support and resources we always do – even if it’s with a little virtual twist!

2020 Wrapped Up:

Events

The year kicked off in the sunshine at AGBT on Marco island in Florida, where we introduced our integrated workflow in collaboration with S2 Genomics; enabling solid tissues to be processed into single cell or nuclei libraries using S2 Genomics’ automated Singulator system and Dolomite Bio’s Nadia platform.

AGBT, alongside the Korea lab exhibition in Seoul, Korea and Analytica China Conference in Shanghai, China, were Dolomite Bio’s only in-person events during the course of 2020!

However, we also embarked on an epic virtual journey with Illumina’s Virtual Single Cell Symposia , the 11 events in total hopped from state to state, even venturing all the way up to Toronto in Canada! The team also had the pleasure of attending both the Single Cell Biology Conference and Genomics Live virtual events towards the end of this year.

Where will you find us in 2021? Check out our events page here.

Webinars

Continuing the virtual theme, we also collaborated on 4 fantastic webinars with Illumina; covering topics from the flexible end- to end workflows available with Dolomite Bio’s Nadia platform and Illumina’s NextSeqTM 2000 Sequencing System, single cell epigenetics of inflammatory cells and an in-depth look into analysing single cell data, from raw-reads to insights.

Throughout the course of these webinars we were joined by guest speaker’s Dr Pawel Zajac and Lei Tong, representing Illumina. As well as Dr. Aki Minoda from RIKEN , Dr Adam Cribbs from Oxford University and Dr. Sebastian Müller from Cambridge University and founder of Alva Genomics.

We also had our very first webinar presented entirely in Chinese and available to view live in China.

Due to how well attended this year’s webinars were, we are excited to see what 2021 will bring. You can find information about our upcoming webinars on the website in the new year.

Blogs, Videos and other resources

This year we bested our previous record by releasing 14 blogs across the year, with topics ranging from our Women in STEM and researcher spotlights, to step by step guides to aid your Single Cell research. As well as blogs focusing on some interesting research conducted using the Nadia instrument. Most pertinent to this year’s events being, Dr Emmanuel Wyler’s pre-print on Single cell RNA sequencing of SARS-CoV-2 infected human cell lines.

This year we also released 3 brand new ‘how to’ videos with tips on how to improve bead flowability, encapsulating agarose beads on the Nadia innovate and covering some of the key improvement in scRNA-Seq available with the Nadia instrument.

You can find this and many other useful videos here

Additionally, this year saw several brand new publications, with interesting research being conducted across a variety of topics, using the Nadia instrument. All publications using our instruments can now be found on our website here.

New Releases

This year we released a brand-new data sheet showcasing our Integrated workflow on mouse lung cells from solid tissues to single cell libraries, as part of our collaboration with S2Genomics.

We also released the Plant Leaf Protoplast RNA-Seq (ppRNA-Seq) application note, data sheet and protocol on Nadia.

Significantly, this year saw the release of our Single Cell Consultancy Service, enabling customers to outsource their single cell projects. With workflows available for a large range of cells and sample types, the Nadia platform offers ultimate flexibility for a variety of research projects.

This year also saw the introduction of the ‘Little Scientists’ section on our website. Providing fun STEM activities for budding little scientists, especially during the time they were unable to attend school in person.

As a special Christmas treat we created a fun ‘Candy DNA experiment’  for kids (and grown-ups too) to sink their teeth into!

With that we would like to thank all our customers for their ongoing support and wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us at Dolomite Bio!
